ISN Publishes Industry Benchmarking Tool
ISN recently published the 2011 Health and Safety Performance Indicators Report. This report serves as a benchmarking tool, analyzing more than five billion work hours from approximately 20,000 contracting companies operating in the U.S. oil and gas industry.
The Key Performance Indicators (KPI) are categorized by North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) codes and by ISN Work Types. The KPIs collected and presented in the report include:
- Total Recordable Injury and Illness Rate (TRIR)
- Total Nonfatal Recordable Injury and Illness Rate (Nonfatal TRIR)
- Days Away, Restricted or Transferred Rate (DART)
- Fatality Rate
- Total Number of Fatalities
“The main purpose of this report is to provide contractors, suppliers and Owner Clients industry specific HSE performance data useful for accurately benchmarking their organization’s performance against that of their peers’,” said Dag Yemenu, ISN Director of Data Analysis and Reporting. “The level of detail, coupled with the richness of the data used, makes the ISN report a relevant and unique source of benchmarking information for the industry.”
