ISN Expands in Utilities Industry with Bruce Power
ISN is proud to announce its expansion in the power generation and utilities industry with Bruce Power, Canada’s first private nuclear generator. Founded in 2001, Bruce Power is implementing ISNetworld, to help manage its contractor safety performance as it provides 30% of Ontario’s power and annually injects billions of dollars into the province’s economy.
Producing safe energy
With eight nuclear reactors, over 4,000 employees and a mission to produce safe energy with zero carbon emissions, Bruce Power is the world’s largest operating nuclear generating facility. Its selection of ISNetworld further demonstrates its long-standing commitment to environmental stewardship and maintaining the highest safety standards.
“Innovation is the key to Bruce Power’s success,” says Harry Hall, VP, Supply Chain at Bruce Power. “We have worked hard to continuously improve our safety standard and look forward to partnering with ISN to ensure our contractors meet our expectations as we continue to aim even higher,” he continues.
ISN expands its footprint in Ontario’s power generation and utilities industry
Ontario has witnessed a transformation of its power generation and utilities industry over the years. In 2014, the province became one of the first places in North America to completely do away with coal as a source of electricity. And today, Ontario exports energy across two provinces (Manitoba and Quebec) and three states (Michigan, Minnesota and New York), with transactions that reach as far as eastern North America. With nuclear energy projected to inject approximately $11 billion into the Great Lakes economies annually, ISN is thrilled to be part of the change that’s underway.
“Having worked with over 470 Hiring Clients, we have a profound appreciation for the importance placed on safety performance in the power generation and utilities industry,” says Kim Ritchie, ISN Eastern Canada Director. “We’ve seen how this industry is poised for growth, and we look forward to helping organizations like Bruce Power continue to innovate, drive operational efficiencies and contribute to a safer workplace environment.”
